About This Adventure

Gaumukh is the glacial snout of the Gangotri Glacier — the source of the holy Ganga. From there the trail pushes up a boulder-strewn glacier tongue to Tapovan meadow, a sacred ground at the base of Shivling's south face. One of the most spiritually and visually charged treks in India.

Safety & Prep

Gangotri Glacier moraine is loose and slippery. Gaumukh section requires careful footing — no fixed trail on the glacier. Trek with an experienced guide.
