Satopanth Lake is one of Uttarakhand's most sacred and isolated high-altitude destinations — a perfectly triangular glacial lake at 4,603m, said to be the meditation site of the Hindu trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) at each of its three corners. The approach through the Badrinath Valley and along the Alaknanda river gorge is spectacular.
