The Adventure
The Valley of Flowers is a UNESCO World Heritage Site — a 87.5 sq km alpine meadow in the Zanskar range that hosts over 500 species of wildflowers during the monsoon. Combined with the sacred Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara at 4,329m, it is one of India's most spiritually and botanically extraordinary treks.
Highlights
The valley in full bloom (July–August) is a wall-to-wall carpet of Himalayan blue poppy, Brahmakamal, cobra lily, and hundreds more. There is genuinely nowhere else on Earth like it during this season.
Suitability
Safety & Prep
Hemkund staircase is steep and relentless. Take it slow — the thin air at 4,329m compounds the effort. Valley of Flowers closed November–April.
