The Pindari Glacier trek follows the Pindari river through some of Kumaon's finest oak and rhododendron forests to the snout of the Pindari Glacier at Zero Point (3,650m). Nanda Devi, Nanda Khat, and Nanda Kot tower above the glacier in a spectacular high-mountain cirque. One of Uttarakhand's classic and most accessible glacier destinations.

Zero Point at Pindari Glacier — the glacial snout with the three Nanda peaks towering overhead — is a classic Kumaon Himalaya moment. The forest approach through ancient oak groves and the gradual reveal of the high peaks makes the journey as memorable as the destination.

This is for you if…

  • Trekkers wanting a proper glacier destination without high technical difficulty
  • Good fitness for 6-day return journey
  • Kumaon forest and wildlife enthusiasts
  • Suitable for experienced families

Skip this if…

  • Expecting glacier walking (approach only, not on glacier itself)
  • Wanting very high altitude (max 3,650m)

Trail is well-maintained and marked. River crossings near Dwali can be strong in June. Black bear habitat — make noise on trail in forest sections. Carry sufficient cash as no ATMs beyond Song.
