Phulara Ridge is one of Uttarakhand's finest high-ridgeline treks — spending two full days walking along an open ridge at 3,500–3,700m, with Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, and the Har Ki Dun peaks as constant companions. The trail starts from Sankri and offers near-continuous mountain views unlike any enclosed valley route.

Walking the Phulara Ridge itself — two days of open skyline walking with 270° mountain panorama — is genuinely unique in Indian trekking. Most treks briefly visit ridges; Phulara Ridge IS the ridge.

This is for you if…

  • Trekkers who prioritise open views and ridgeline walking over dense forest or valley routes
  • Good fitness for 3,700m altitude
  • Sankri is the same basecamp as Kedarkantha — easy to combine

Skip this if…

  • Wanting lush forest or river valley scenery
  • Preferring established heavily-trafficked trails

Ridgeline fully exposed to weather — strong wind and sudden cloud common. Carry waterproofs at all times. Snow possible in late October-November. Forest sections below ridge can be confusing.
